BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable Public Schools Family and Community Engagement Center will host an open house for families interested in what kinds of services the center provides.
The FCEC opened this summer within the Hyannis youth and Community Center and has already served more than 350 families looking for assistance.
Some of the provided services include catching children up on immunizations and help with registering children for different Barnstable schools all in one place, computers for filling out online forms, and a multi-lingual staff speaking Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
The open house will let families tour the offices, ask questions, and learn more about Barnstable’s Volunteers in Public Schools Program.
The HYCC that houses the FCEC will also be holding its own festivities as they celebrate their 10th anniversary, which will include cake-cutting, public skating, touch-and-truck, open gym, crafts, and other family-friendly activities.
The event is Saturday, September 14 from 11 am to 2 pm at the HYCC.
