Longnook Beach Remains Closed Due to Shark Activity

TRURO – Due to the recent shark activity and attack on Wednesday, Longnook Beach in Truro has been closed indefinitely.

According to the Truro Harbormaster’s office, the beach has been closed to swimming until further notice.

Beach gate attendants will be informing beachgoers of the recent shark activity in the area and distributing Cape Cod Great White Shark Safety brochures.

William Lytton, 61, of Scarsdale New York was bitten while swimming at the beach on Wednesday.
