Lt. Governor Polito Announcing State Funding for Cape Projects Today

 

BOSTON – Today, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito will join Senator Vinny deMacedo, Representative Randy Hunt and Representative David Vieira to participate in the Buzzards Bay Wastewater Treatment Facility Groundbreaking made possible through a 2017 $1.5 million MassWorks Infrastructure Grant Program award to support the installation of a new wastewater treatment plant, which will expand capacity and benefit new development in the village center.

She then will visit the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) at Woods Hole.

After that, the Lt. Governor will participate in a regional Community Compact Collaboration discussion that will focus on the best practices developed and implemented over the last three years with officials from Barnstable, Yarmouth and Eastham.

She will later join Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Matthew Beaton, Representative Tim Whelan, Representative Will Crocker, Representative Sarah Peake, Representative Steven Howitt and Barnstable Town Manager Mark Ells in Hyannis where she will announce $3.6 million in grants through the 2018 Navigational Dredging Pilot Program to support ten projects for the upcoming dredging season.
