HYANNIS – Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito will join local officials to discuss the impacts of marijuana legalization at an upcoming panel discussion at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis.

The event on October 11 is being hosted through a partnership between State Senator Vinny DeMacedo, Representative Randy Hunt, the Campaign for a Safe and Healthy Massachusetts and the Cape Cod Chamber.

Local officials will discuss the potential impacts on the Commonwealth should ballot Question 4 pass.

Following the Lt. Governor’s remarks, she will be joined by a panel for questions and answers from the audience.

Polito has joined Governor Charlie Baker, Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo, the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and Boston mayor Marty Walsh to oppose the legalization of recreational marijuana in the state.

Question 4 on the November 2016 ballot seeks to allow the use, cultivation, possession and distribution of recreational marijuana for individuals at least 21 years old.
