Man Captured After Standoff with Police in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH-  A standoff just after 10:30 last night with police in Plymouth has resulted in an arrest.

Police got a call around 3 p.m. from a local mental health facility stating that the man had had threatened to kill himself, which prompted SWAT team members and other law enforcement agents to respond.

The scene unfolded on Worrell Road, where the man had barricaded himself inside.

Nearby homes had to be evacuated during the standoff causing disruption in the area.

A few hours later, investigators went into the home to search for the un-identified man.

During the search, police say they seized weapons belonging to a relative.

The man did not make threats to anyone but himself and police did not believe he was a threat to the public.

A short time later, police were able to locate the man outside the residence, and took him to a local hospital for evaluation.

Police did not say whether the man would face charges.
