Man Charged With Heroin Trafficking After Nantucket Arrest

nantucket police1NANTUCKET  – A Plymouth man faces arraignment today after being arrested by Nantucket police last week on heroin trafficking charges.

Police say 36-year-old Edward Mello had 20 grams of heroin on him when he got off the fast ferry on Friday. Officers were dispatched to the scene to encounter Mello, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by Falmouth District Court.

Mello posted $500 bail. He is charged with tracking in a class A substance.

Mello will be arraigned in Nantucket District Court.
