Man Medflighted After Falmouth Rollover

medflightFALMOUTH – A man was medflighted to Tufts Medical Center in Boston last night with life threatening injuries after his car rolled over on Sippewissett Road in Falmouth Friday night.

Falmouth Police and Fire crews responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. to find the driver pinned in the vehicle and unresponsive.

Fire crews took about 30 minutes to free the man with the Jaws of Life, according to Deputy Fire Chief Michael Small.

Lt. Brian Kinsella, of the Falmouth Police Department, said the 2001 Acura lost control around a corner after passing another vehicle and struck a boulder, or landscaping rock, causing the car to roll into a utility pole.

The roof of the car was up against the pole and the drivers side of the vehicle was on the ground.

Kinsella said police do not believe alcohol was involved and that the cause of the accident was speeding.

“The road has a lot of curves,” Kinsella said. “It’s winding and not good to speed on, and this gentleman found out the hard way.”
