Man Suffers Serious Injuries in Route 6 Crash

ambulanceWEST BARNSTABLE – Heavy rain and high winds caused problems on the Cape’s roadways today.

A man was taken to Cape Cod hospital with injuries described as serious by West Barnstable Fire Chief Joe Maruca after his vehicle drove off of Route 6 and into trees.

The man, described in his early twenties, was traveling eastbound when his Subaru drove off the right side of the highway between exits 4 and 5 just after 11 a.m.

The driver was the only occupant and the vehicle was totaled, according to Maruca.

Maruca said that the weather was definitely a factor in the accident.

The right lane of eastbound traffic was closed in the area for about 15 to 20 minutes causing some short delays.
