MARTHA’S VINEYARD – The Baker Administration has awarded $125,000 to nine communities in Massachusetts to advance long-term housing initiatives, and all six towns on Martha’s Vineyard are in line for funding.

The Martha’s Vineyard Commission will receive $70,000 to create housing production plans island-wide.

Auburn, Grafton, and Lenox also received funding as part of the PATH grant program, which was established in 2014 to help towns expand housing opportunities.

“Across the Commonwealth, we are working to empower our local partners, helping them create sustainable communities that can support long-term growth,” said Gov. Charlie Baker. “Massachusetts is an enviable place to live, and as demand for housing increases, these planning grants are another tool for communities to take a proactive approach to development and housing production.”
