MASHPEE -Masphee and State police have deemed the Mashpee Middle-High School safe after it was evacuated this morning due to a telephone bomb threat.

Students and staff were safely evacuated from the building at about 9:40 a.m. Police thoroughly inspected the building including student backpacks which were left behind. The backpacks will remain where they were left by students.

All students will enter the building on Tuesday through  a single entry point and will report to the gymnasium. They will then report to the last class they were in when they were dismissed to retrieve their possessions.

Afternoon and evening basketball games will be played with extra police presence.

The Quashnet and Coombs Schools were not affected and were dismissed at their regularly scheduled half-day time.
