Mashpee Armed Standoff Suspect Pleads Guilty

Falmouth District Court - 2MASHPEE – The man who barricaded himself inside a Mashpee business during a seven hour armed standoff last month pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the incident last week in Falmouth District Court.

41-year-old Patrick Perkins of East Falmouth pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, intoxicated carrying of a firearm, and disturbing the peace. Three other charges were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.

Police say Perkins was despondent when he fired a round inside the Audio Video Solutions store on Route 28 on July 28.  Officers say he was despondent over a separation from his wife and was threatening to harm himself.

Police convinced Perkins to surrender peacefully about 7 hours after the incident began. Nobody was harmed.
