MASHPEE – Residents of Mashpee will have another option for trash disposal beginning next summer after a selectmen’s vote Monday night.
Selectmen voted four to one in favor of a new pay as you throw program, according to Selectman Andrew Gottlieb.
Gottlieb said selectmen were trying to achieve three goals.
“We were looking at ways to minimize costs to our residents as well as reduce the amount of trash we dispose of while simultaneously increase our recycling rate,” he said.
The program goes into effect July 1, 2015.
