MASHPEE – Police in Mashpee are warning residents in the Ferngully Pass area of the presence of an injured adult coyote.

Police say the coyote has suffered a leg injury, is semi-immobile and probably seeking easy prey such as small animals.

An animal control officer has been issued a temporary license to trap the coyote.

Residents are asked to be on the lookout for the animal and to contact police with any sightings.
