Mashpee Selectmen Rescind PAYT Vote

recyclingMASHPEE – The Mashpee Board of Selectmen is revisiting the issue of Pay As You Throw after residents were upset about a vote last month that approved the program for the town.

Chairman of the Mashpee Board of Selectmen Wayne Taylor says the Board took action at their board meeting last night to undo the earlier vote because of public complaints.

“We heard public comment from them that they were disappointed in what we had done. We also unanimously voted to rescind the earlier vote,” he said.

The board is holding a forum next Wednesday night at Mashpee High School to discuss the issue, it gets underway at 6:30 p.m.
