COURTESY OF THE TOWN OF MASHPEE: Selectman Chair Andrew Gottlieb.

MASHPEE – The first monthly sit-down for Mashpee residents with Selectman Andrew Gottlieb will be held this afternoon.

Gottlieb, the selectmen chair, will hold office hours over the winter months to address the questions and concerns of residents who might not be able to make it to Selectmen’s meetings.

The one hour sessions will be held each month at different times at Town Hall.

“I’ll go there and provide an outlet for them and hopefully hear a little bit more about what’s on people’s minds and get some feedback,” Gottlieb said.  “And try that as a way to engage people a little bit more in town affairs.”

Gottlieb said the office hours are common with state legislators and he decided to bring it to the town level.

“I wanted to provide myself a little bit more accessibility to people that had concerns that needed some help or had questions about what the town was up to,” he said.

Gottlieb will be in the Waquoit Conference Room in Town Hall from 2 to 3 p.m. today.

The office hours will continue past February if enough people participate.
