FALMOUTH – The man arrested after an armed standoff in Mashpee last week will appear at Falmouth District Court for a dangerousness hearing Wednesday.

41-year-old Patrick Perkins, of East Falmouth, has been held without bail since the incident at the Audio Video Solutions Store on Route 28 last Wednesday.

Perkins is accused of barricading himself inside the store with a semi-automatic assault rifle. Police say he was despondent over a separation from his wife and was threatening to harm himself.

Perkins fired a round that did not strike anybody, according to police.

Officers convinced Perkins to surrender peacefully about 7 hours after the incident began. Nobody was harmed.

Perkins faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, intoxicated licensee carrying a firearm, disorderly conduct and threat to commit a crime. He pleaded not guilty to the charges last week.

Perkins was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
