MASHPEE – A free mobile app is currently connecting citizens of Mashpee to the Department of Public Works.

The app, developed by a company called See Click Fix, is designed to let residents report issues such as illegal dumping, graffiti, potholes and other concerns directly from their iOS or Android devices.

Mashpee Department of Public Works Director Catherine Laurent, who premiered “MashpeeWorks” at a Selectmen’s meeting in March, said users must provide an email to use the app in order for the town to report back on the status of the concern.

MashpeeWorks will also utilize GPS coordinates to better track where incidents are occurring. Laurent said users can opt to wait until they are home and report issues via the town website, where a digital annex of the program can be found.

According to Laurent, the app is user-friendly.

“It’s easily recognized, easy to use, and is just another way for the town to work with and communicate better with our residents,” Laurent said.
