Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe to Hold Recall Election Sunday

MASHPEE – A Recall Hearing will be held by the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Sunday.

Tribal Council Chairman Cedric Cromwell and Treasurer Gordon Harris will be questioned about the way finances have been handled.

The Tribe’s election committee is reminding enrolled tribal members who are 18 years of age to complete a voter registration form in order to vote during the recall election if they are not already registered.

A federal, state or Mashpee Tribal government-issued photo I.D. card is required.

Voter registration forms can be obtained at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Community & Government Center during regular business hours at 483 Great Neck Road South in Mashpee.

All enrolled and eligible Tribal members are allowed to register on or before the Recall Election Day.

A sufficient number of Tribal Registered voters must be present at the beginning of the hearing or the Recall Election will be cancelled according to the Constitution of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

Voter registration hours will be available Sunday between 1 and 2:30 p.m.

The Recall Hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. with the Recall Election from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
