Mass. Maritime Academy To Graduate 300+ Students Saturday

BOURNE-  The Massachusetts Maritime Academy is set to graduate over 390 students from their marine education based facility this weekend.

“We are very fortunate that some great young people are choosing to go to school here. Over the course of the last decade or so we have seen a steady increase in a number of key trending factors including high school GPA, SAT scores, and also have made some headway with both our gender diversity, and racial/ethnic diversity,” said Francis McDonald, MMA Admiral.

4 Star Air Force General Darren McDew and Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito will speak to the students who are majoring in fields such as  emergency management, energy systems engineering, facilities engineering, international maritime business, facilities management, and more.

“The system here is a little different than traditional colleges where we are asking the students to put in a lot of sweat equity in issues outside of the classroom that ranges from the cooperative education and experiential learning programs, to the regiment of cadets in our leadership laboratory,” said McDonald.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy is a fully accredited, four year, co-educational state university offering Bachelor and Master of Science degrees.
