BUZZARDS BAY – A Massachusetts Maritime training ship is currently at a shipyard in Brooklyn, undergoing inspections, maintenance and repairs.
Work on the T/S Edward M Kennedy includes the inspection of its hull fittings and valves, and having the ship’s bottom cleaned and repainted.
Federal regulations call for the ship to be inspected twice in a five-year period.
The work is being conducted at the GMD shipyard in Brooklyn.
