HYANNIS – Gas prices in Massachusetts fell four cents over the past week.
AAA Northeast’s weekly survey shows that self-serve, regular unleaded is selling for an average of $2.64 per gallon.
That price is the same as the national average and 19 cents lower than at this time last year.
“Domestic gasoline supplies soared to the highest level not seen in nearly five months, leading to price drops across much of the country,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast.
“While demand is also up, it’s not enough to stay on pace with the huge jump in gasoline stocks.”
Prices on Cape Cod are between $2.57 and $2.99, according to GasBuddy.com.
