Massachusetts Gas Prices Drop Another 2 Cents

HYANNIS – Gas prices continue to fall in Massachusetts.

AAA Northeast reports the average price of a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded dropped two cents over the past week to $2.62.

That price is 20 cents higher than the national average and 13 cents higher than at the same time last year.

“With many motorists planning holiday road trips, the drop in pump prices couldn’t come at a better time,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “In every state, gas prices have dropped by double digits month over month, and AAA expects the national gas prices average to dip as low as $2.40 by year’s end due to cheaper crude oil prices.”

According to GasBuddy.com, prices on Cape Cod are between $2.42 and $2.89.
