Massachusetts Gas Prices Drop Another Penny

HYANNIS – Gas prices in Massachusetts have fallen another penny over the last week.

AAA Northeast reports that the Bay State average for self-serve, regular unleaded is $2.82 per gallon.

That price is one cent lower than the national average and 58 cents higher than at the same time last year.

“Compared to July, consumer demand for gasoline is lessening and prices are starting to follow suit,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “The national average is expected to keep moving lower, especially with the switchover to lower grade gasoline in September.”

Prices on Cape Cod are between $2.73 and $3.14, according to GasBuddy.com.
