Massachusetts Republicans Elect 27 Delegates

ElectionBOSTON (AP) — Republicans at nine caucuses across Massachusetts have selected delegates to the Republican National Convention.

They elected 27 of the state’s 42 GOP delegates Saturday, three each in caucuses held in the state’s nine congressional districts.

The possibility that Republican front-runner Donald Trump will fail to win the nomination on a first ballot at the national convention has the two remaining GOP presidential hopefuls — Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz — scrambling to line up delegates who would support them on a second vote.

On a second vote at the convention, delegates can vote for whichever candidate they want.
