Massachusetts US House Incumbents Stockpiling Campaign Cash

BOSTON (AP) — Democratic incumbents in all nine Massachusetts U.S. House districts are stockpiling money ahead of the November election, although five face no challengers.

9^th District Congressman William Keating, who represents the Cape and Islands, has $637,000 on hand.

He will face either Mark Alliegro or Tom O’Malley in the general election. Both are competing for the Republican nomination.

Richard Neal tops the state’s congressional fundraising list with nearly $3 million in his account as of the end of June, followed by Joe Kennedy with more than $2.5 million. Next is Seth Moulton with nearly $1.2 million.

Neither Neal nor Moulton has a Republican or Democratic challenger.

Campaign finance reports show that Stephen Lynch has about $848,000 in his account, followed by Katherine Clark with more than $808,000. Michael Capuano has about $710,000, Niki Tsongas has $624,000 and Jim McGovern has $419,000.

Clark, Capuano and McGovern have no challengers.

The state’s two Democratic U.S. senators, Elizabeth Warren and Edward Markey, are not up for re-election.
