DENNIS-  The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will host a public forum this week to discuss the Bass River Replacement Project.

The structure, built in 1935, currently serves as the bridge between Route 28 over the Bass River to the towns of Dennis and Yarmouth.

Throughout the years, general wear and tear has left the crossing at the end of its useful lifespan, and must be replaced.

The meeting will feature information from HDR Engineering Inc, the company tasked with completing the $17.25 million dollar project , in addition to speakers from  MassDot.

Talks get underway May 24th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Dennis Police Department.
