WOODS HOLE – The Marine Biological Laboratory kicks off its new Falmouth Forum season this week with a talk on living to listen.

How would the world change if everyone listened first? Where do we begin? Andrew Forsthoefel will answer these questions in an evening of storytelling and discussion.

“Walking to Listen: 4,000 Mile Across America, One Story at a Time” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 3 in the MBL’s Lillie Auditorium in Woods Hole.

Forsthoefel, an author and adventurer, left his Pennsylvania home at the age of 23 with a backpack, audio recorder and a sign that read “Walking to Listen.”

He had just graduated from college and was ready to begin his adult life, but didn’t know how. So he decided to walk and listen.

Forsthoefel will discuss his 2011 journey and his practices in connective presence, personal transformation and conflict resolution.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information on this program and others in the Falmouth Forum series, visit mbl.edu/falmouth-forum.
