WAREHAM – The third annual “Meet Me at the Tremont” fundraising event will be held Saturday in Wareham.
The Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, partnering with the Wareham Redevelopment Authority, Eastern Bank and the Tremont Nail Advisory Group, will host the event at the historic Tremont Nail Factory from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
The event showcases the landmark and will include a buffet dinner and desserts, a cash bar, live music and dancing.
The food is provided by Lindsey’s Restaurant and music will be performed by Daddy-O!
“It’s really a great place – very different to have an event such as this,” said Marie Oliva, the president and CEO of the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce.
The Tremont Nail Factory was built in the 1800s. The event will be in a portion of the property that was built in the 1900s.
“What’s great about this is that all of the proceeds go to the chamber’s scholarship fund,” Oliva said.
The fund provides scholarships for students from Upper Cape Tech, Wareham High School, Bourne High School and Sandwich High School.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at capecodcanalchamber.org.
Guests will also have the opportunity to preview the Wareham Historical Society’s “pop-up museum” with displays of artifacts from a history of Yankee ingenuity.
Other sponsors include Southcoast Health System, JC Engineering, Organa Brands, Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston/Cape Cod, United Rentals, Verilife, Santangelo Studio, Community Events Committee, and the Wareham Garden Club.
Oliva said there is a lot of redevelopment going on in the area of the factory.
“There is a lot of buildings being looked at in terms of what kind of economic development and what type of projects could be done,” she said. “There is a vision plan from the town of Wareham that they are doing on this particular site.”
Oliva said the area will look much different in about five years.
