Meeting Planned on Mashpee Commons Expansion Plans

MASHPEE – Officials from Mashpee Commons will go before the Mashpee Planning Board Wednesday night to discuss their future plans for the complex.

The meeting is the last scheduled public visioning workshop as company officials look at the next phase of development for Mashpee Commons.

Expansion plans call for business and residential units and additional open space.

The current housing stock at Mashpee Commons is fully leased and there is a waiting list for apartments.

Mashpee Commons officials say they are hoping to engage the community to assist them conceptualize the next phases of the complex.

“We’re pleased to host these visioning workshops so we can hear directly from the public about what they would like to see in the future of Mashpee Commons, said Buff Chace, the Managing General Partner of Mashpee Commons. “We believe that the best ideas come when we open the planning process up to the community, and we’re looking forward to our collaboration with the Mashpee Commons community as the master plan evolves.”

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Mashpee Town Hall.
