Melissa Morris Selected as New Artist-In-Residence on Hyannis HyArts Campus

HYANNIS – The Town of Barnstable has announced that artist Mellissa Morris is the new Studio 46 Artist-in-Resident on Pearl Street, in Hyannis, on the Hyannis HyArts Campus. 

Morris intends to offer meditation and yoga classes, monthly drawing and painting workshops.

The Hyannis HyArts Campus Artist-in-Residence program is an opportunity for members of the creative economy to rent a professional working artist studio space and gallery.

Studio 46 Pearl is situated on a small arts campus setting, which includes a gallery, pottery studio and the Guyer Barn, a community art space.

The Town of Barnstable encourages local artists with a variety of opportunities to advance in their work and interact with the public. 

The artist in residence program is one of many arts oriented town programs in the Hyannis HyArts Cultural District contributing to a lively cultural destination where working artists engage residents and visitors alike in cultural activities.

Mellissa Morris works with painting, collage, drawing and printmaking techniques. 

She’s a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a Masters in Fine Arts painting and teaches at the Cape Cod Art Association and Cape Cod Child Development offering creative art yoga classes and activities. 

Mellissa also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Bunker Hill and Cape Cod Community College and is the co-owner of The Little Sandwich Shop on Main Street Hyannis.
