Mid-Cape Cultural Council Hosts Inaugural Fundraiser

HYANNIS – The Mid-Cape Cultural Council has announced the Inaugural “A Taste of Art” fundraiser to take place on Thursday, September 21st from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

Attendees will be treated to a tasting of an artfully plated appetizer as they stroll between six premiere Hyannis Main Street restaurants.

Tickets cost $50 per person and only 100 tickets will be sold.

Tickets can be purchased online or purchased the day of the event, beginning at 5 pm at the Guyer Barn in Hyannis.

The Mid-Cape Cultural Council annually awards grants to individuals and organizations in the Towns of Barnstable and Yarmouth for projects that support the Arts, Humanities, and Interpretative Sciences.

This year, the Council distributed over $11,000 in grants to fund projects in the two towns.

The Council also initiates cultural projects that build communities and collaborates on cultural initiatives with each town.

Council members are residents in Barnstable and Yarmouth.

In 2016, The Mid-Cape Cultural Council received a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to begin a public art project, the HyArts Discovery Walk, in Hyannis.

The Discovery Walk is a path of commissioned artworks within the Hyannis HyArts Cultural District to encourage visitors to explore multiple points of interest in the District, with a primary focus of Hyannis Main Street and Hyannis Harbor.
