WAREHAM – The Wareham woman who won a one million dollar Powerball prize has been identified. Illona McCahill of East Wareham is the winner, she won the money in the October 17th drawing.
McCahill, joined by her husband James at lottery headquarters, received a one-time, pre-tax payment of one million dollars. James purchased the winner at the Stop and Shop on Cranberry Highway in East Wareham, the store will receive a $10,000 prize for selling the ticket.
Ilona says she will help her family and give some of the money to charity.
The estimated jackpot for the next Powerball drawing is 620 million dollars.
