HARWICH – Monomoy Regional School District Superintendent Scott Carpenter is hosting an open forum tonight for the public.
The discussion comes as the district faces a looming deficit for fiscal year 2020.
The current proposed budget comes in at $41.3 million.
That number is a budget increase of just under 4% over the prior fiscal year. It also includes eliminating 8 full and part time positions. Carpenter said to reduce the budget further, to 3.25 percent, the district would need to cut an additional 10-15 more jobs.
Carpenter said he will be addressing concerns and questions at tonight’s forum. It gets underway at 6 at the Harwich Community Center.
