HARWICH – All five candidates running for the Cape and Islands State Senate seat will debate Tuesday night at Monomoy Regional High School in Harwich.

Students from the school will run the entire debate and serve as moderator, panelists and timers.

The democratic candidates running for the seat are Barnstable County Commissioner Sheila Lyons, State Representative Brian Mannal and Julian Cyr, the former Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Health.

James Crocker, an Osterville real estate agent, and former Ashland Town Manager Anthony Schiavi are republicans seeking the seat.

Current Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf (D-Harwich) is not seeking re-election.

The debate starts at 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium and is open to the public.

Brewster Selectman, and democrat, Ben deRuyter dropped out of the race last month.

The state primary elections are September 8.
