FALMOUTH – The mother of the man who allegedly shot two Falmouth police officers in July was back in court for a pre-trial conference on Wednesday.
Kimberly Koval and another son, Marcus Maseda, are charged with assaulting a police officer, interference with police and intimidation of a witness.
Police say Officers Donald DeMiranda and Ryan Moore were hindered by the two as officers attempted to address an issue with Malik Koval, 21, who is accused of firing the shots.
Kimberly Koval will be back in court on November 6 for another pre-trial.
Maseda returns to court on September 28.
Malik Koval remains held in jail.
He is accused of shooting the officers during an altercation in Falmouth July 27th. Both officers are expected to make a full recovery.
As the officers were involved with Maseda and Kimberly Koval, Malik Koval allegedly retrieved a gun and fired at the officers, hitting them both.
The officers were responding to reports of a disturbance at the Ashley Drive home.
Malik Koval is charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, two counts of assault to murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
