Motorists Should Avoid Marathon Area On Sunday

 

BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable Police Department is advising the public that the running of the Hyannis Marathon takes place Sunday starting at 10:00 AM. 

The race begins and ends at the Hyannis Resort and Conference Center and will affect traffic throughout the morning. 

Long delays are expected in the areas of Sea Street, Gosnold Street and Old Colony Road in Hyannis; the intersection of Smith Street, Marstons Avenue and Scudder Avenue in Hyannisport; and the areas of Craigville Beach Road, Main Street, Old Stage Road, Pine Street, and Strawberry Hill Road in Centerville. 

Most intersections along the route will be closed for extended periods of time. 

Motorists are advised to avoid these areas.
