FALMOUTH – The Falmouth Annual Town Meeting will begin Monday, with Special Town Meeting following on Tuesday.

The meetings are expected to consider a combined 51 articles.

Falmouth Board of Selectmen Vice Chairman Douglas Jones said one the articles expected to get considerable debate is renovating a portion of the Gus Canty Community Center in order to put a police and fire dispatch center in the stage area of the center.

Another big topic at the meeting is a Proposition 2 1/2 tax override question to spend $4 million for the Lawrence School window renovation project. Jones said he feels confident that the latter, at least, will pass.

“It’s both a safety issue and an energy efficiency issue,” he said. “I think they’ll bite the bullet and say ‘well, that makes sense.’”

Both meetings will be held at 7 pm at the Lawrence School’s Memorial Auditorium.
