MSPCA Cape Cod Hosts Inaugural Fundraiser on Thursday

CENTERVILLE – The MSPCA Cape Cod is holding an inaugural fundraiser on Thursday at the Wychmere Beach Club in Harwich Port.

More than 300 animal-loving philanthropists are expected to attend “The Great Catsby & the Barking 20’s”.

There will be cocktails, dinner and dancing and a raffle.

All money raised at the event will go to help care for the sick and homeless animals.

“This pays the bills, this keeps us operating, this allows us to fulfill our mission every day, so it keeps the lights on, keeps animals medicated and it just keeps us moving forward,” said MSPCA Cape Cod Executive Director Mary Sarah Fairweather.

She adds that a lot goes into keeping the shelter operating.

“There is so much that goes into the care of each individual animal so that the minute they come in they’re given shelter, food, water, medication, behavioral support and of course a lot of love,” said Fairweather.

Participants are encouraged to wear Gatsy attire and some of the shelter’s animals will be in attendance.
