CENTERVILLE – The MSPCA is seeking super hero adopters this weekend for harder to place cats.

Adoption fees will be waived at the Cape Cod Adoption Center in Centerville Saturday during the “Challenging Cat Challenge” adoptathon.

The organization is hoping to find new homes for cats with less desirable personalities and habits, including shyness, feistiness or unpredictable litterbox behaviors.

“Few adopters imagine falling in love with the cat who’s too shy to come out of hiding, or who hisses and growls in response to belly rubs – but the fact is we’ve placed hundreds of cats like this into new homes who often turn into perfect companions once they’re in the right environment for their personality,” said Mike Keiley, the director of the MSPCA’s animal care and adoption centers.

The center’s Saturday adoption hours are 1 to 4 p.m.

Similar adoptathon events will also be held Saturday at the organization’s adoption centers in Boston and Methuen.
