Multiple Barnstable Road Work Projects Beginning This Week

Road workBARNSTABLE – A number of road work projects are getting underway this week in Barnstable.

A major, two and a half year construction project also begins on Bearse’s Way Wednesday. The State Department of Transportation will be widening the road and adding sidewalks, crosswalks, and new curbs. New drainage will also be installed for the roadways.

Crews will begin milling and paving Bumps River Road in Osterville Wednesday, with work expected to wrap up Friday, September 16. The project will take place between Scudder Bay Circle and Pond Street. The road will be limited to one lane between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Paving work on Osterville-West Barnstable Road begins on Friday and is expected to last until September 23. Crews will be working between Old Falmouth Road and Race Lane between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The road will be limited to one lane during work hours.

    Why don’t they work on Iyannough Rd by the airport, building sidewalks, widening it to at least one more lane?
    The nightmare on summer goes from the rotary until Yarmouth rd.
    They have enough room there and it would add safety and better look to a so important part of this town.
