KA_Hyannis_Barnstable Airport Planes03111315MARTHA’S VINEYARD – Martha’s Vineyard Airport has received a $7.4 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The FAA said that the grant will fund the construction of a 20,000 square foot Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting building to assist the airport in meeting safety requirements and extend the life of equipment by protecting it from adverse weather conditions.

“Construction of a new Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Building and the important safety upgrades that go along with that will allow fire responders at the Martha’s Vineyard Airport to have the infrastructure that they need to be prepared for any emergency situation,” said Congressman Bill Keating.
