Naked Man Found Sitting in JFK Memorial Fountain in Hyannis

Barnstable Police LogoHYANNIS – A homeless man who was sitting naked in the fountain Friday night at the John F. Kennedy Memorial off Ocean St. in Hyannis is facing charges of open and gross lewdness.

Barnstable police were notified by visitors to the memorial who spotted Jules Lussier, 62, sitting in the water shortly after 8 p.m. His clothes were draped over a nearby fence.

Sgt. Sean Sweeney says a mother who was riding bikes with her children in the area told officers she was “disturbed and disgusted” by the situation.

Lussier was taken into custody and held over the weekend on $1,000 bail. He was scheduled for arraignment Monday in Barnstable District Court.

There were several visitors in the immediate area where Lussier was sitting naked.
