Nancy Jean (Sanderson) Dwarnick

Nancy Jean (Sanderson) Dwarnick, passed away in her home in Osterville, MA on Friday, August 18, 2017. She was born in Ironwood, MI on February 4, 1929. Nancy was the daughter of the late Alice (Hager) and George W. Sanderson of Milton, MA, granddaughter of the late Cora (Shedd) and Leslie A. Hager of Littleton, MA and sister to the late Jacqueline Flood of Concord and Osterville MA. She was a graduate of Littleton High School and Katherine Dell Secretarial School.

After graduation, she worked as a medical assistant in Boston, MA until she married her husband of 43 years, the late Stephen Dwarnick. They resided in New Providence, NJ where they raised their family for over 40 years. Nancy worked for Bloomingdales in Short Hills, NJ and was a founding member of St Andrews Episcopal Church, New Providence.

She was a member of several organizations, including the New Providence Women’s Club serving as president from 1963-1964, the New Providence Historical Society, and St Andrews Altar Guild. Later she moved to Osterville, MA, where she continued to be an active member of the community. She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church serving on the Altar Guild, the Osterville Historical Society, and The Beach Club in Centerville, MA. Nancy loved knitting, collecting antiques, and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her three daughters; Susan Dwarnick of Washington, D.C; Jodi Thompson of South Carolina, and Jacqueline Hagerty of New Jersey. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, William Thompson III and Tyler (Thompson) Daukas and three great grandchildren.

The family extends sincere thanks to the neighbors, and friends, for the love and support given to Nancy. A memorial service will be held on September 9th at 10:00 am at St. Peters Church, 421 Wianno Ave, PO Box 2137, Osterville, MA.

An additional memorial service will be held at St Andrews Episcopal Church, New Providence, NJ on October 21st at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s name to St. Peters Episcopal Church, 421 Wianno Ave, PO Box 2137, Osterville, MA or St Andrews Episcopal Church 419 South Street, New Providence, NJ 07974, or Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
