Nantucket Cottage Hospital Awards $762,000 In Grants

NANTUCKET – Through its Community Health Initiative, Nantucket Cottage Hospital has awarded $762,000 to 13 non-profits.

The grant funds are available through the hospital’s capital campaign to build the island’s new hospital.

They will eventually invest more than $4 million in community health.

Behavioral health, women’s and children’s health  and access to healthcare and housing were the four areas the hospital sought proposals in.

These priorities were decided upon by island residents through several means including public forums.

Dr. Margot Hartmann, President and CEO of the hospital, thanked the generous donors and said:

“These grants represent a unique opportunity to bring resources to the areas of greatest need.”

The NCH Community Health Fund, who collaborated and provided administrative support, will distribute the grants.
