NANTUCKET – Nantucket Police will begin enforcing the overnight parking ban of commercially registered vehicles in the Commercial Parking District on Tuesday, July 1.
The ban applies to any vehicle with a commercial registration plate that does not have a permit.
Owners of commercial vehicles who can provide proof of work use between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. in the Commercial Parking District will be able to purchase a permit.
Permits will go on sale Monday, June 30 at the police station’s permit window located at 4 Fairgrounds Road.
The fee for a permit is $25 and is valid for the year it was issued.
Owners of commercial vehicles that currently hold a Residential Parking Permit are required to obtain a Commercially Registered Vehicle Permit without any additional cost.
The Board of Selectmen created the Commercial Parking District on May 21, 2014.
