Nantucket Historical Association Acquires Significant Painting

NANTUCKET – The Nantucket Historical Association is pleased to announce the acquisition of a significant painting that captures the beauty of the Nantucket coast line.

Nantucket Shore by William Trost Richards depicts a Nantucket beach and is an oil painting that measures 10 and ¾ inches by 20 inches.

The painting will be included in the exhibit entitled, Two Hundred Years of American Art on Nantucket. The exhibit features 30 works of art from the nineteenth and twentieth century.

It opens to the public June 15th at the Whaling Museum in the Williams Forsyth Gallery
