NANTUCKET – The Nantucket Historical Association is one of the 30 finalists for the 2016 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.
The award, given out by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, is the nation’s highest award for significant contributions to the community.
Visitors to the Nantucket Historical Association are encouraged to share their experiences on the IMLS Facebook page before the medal winners are named later this spring.
The Fitchburg Art Museum and the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst are other Massachusetts institutes named as finalists.
Representatives from the winning museums and libraries will travel to Washington, D.C., to be honored at the National Medal award ceremony.
