Nantucket Housing Lottery Info Session Set For Friday

NANTUCKET – Applications are being accepted for an Affordable and Workforce Homeownership Housing Lottery on Nantucket.

The lottery is for three affordable and five workforce three-bedroom homes being built at Sandpiper I on Beach Grass Road.

The affordable homes will be sold at affordable prices to households with incomes at or below 80 percent of the area median income. Workforce homes will be sold to households with incomes at or below 175 percent of the area median income.

The first homes will be ready in early 2020.

All homes will he heated by central forced hot air, will feature linoleum flooring with carpeted bedrooms.

Kitchens will be fitted with Formica counter tops, standard wall and base cabinets, and a cooking range and refrigerator. Washers and dryers will not be provided, but hookups for the appliances will be installed.

For affordable units, the maximum Household Income Limits are as follows:
$53,150 (1 person); $60,750 (2 people); $68,350 (3 people); $75,900 (4 people); $82,000 (5 person); $88,050 (6 people).
For affordable homes, households cannot have more than $75,000 in assets.

For workforce units, the maximum Household Income Limits are as follows:
$143,080 (1 person); $163,520 (2 people); $183,960 (3 people); $204,400 (4 people); $220,752 (5 person); $237,104 (6 people).
For workforce homes, households cannot have more than $450,000 in assets.

A public info session for the lottery will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Community Room at 4 Fairgrounds Road.

Completed applications and required income documentation must be delivered, or postmarked, by 2 p.m. on December 30. Applications postmarked by the deadline must be received no later than five business days from the deadline.

The lottery for eligible households will be held on January 12, 2020 at 5 p.m. in the Community Room at 4 Fairgrounds Road.
