Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association Hosting “A Passion for Birds” By Henry Lappen

NANTUCKET-  Nantucket’s Maria Mitchell Association is gearing up for two performances of, “A Passion for Birds” by Henry Lappen taking place at the Nantucket Boys and Girls Club, and at the First Congregational Church this month.

During the performance, Lappen, an environmental educator and journalist, will encourage audience participation through exploring how birds adapt to their environment, and how that impacts the ways that birds appear.

Performances kick off at the Boys and Girls Club at 2:00 pm on July 10th, and at 5:00 pm on July 12th at the First Congregational Church on 62 North Centre Street.

The cost for the event is set at $10 for MMA members and $15 for non-members.

Founded in 1902, The Association works to preserve the legacy of Nantucket native astronomer, naturalist, librarian, and educator, Maria Mitchell.
