Nantucket to Honor Lifesavers Next Week

NANTUCKET – Four individuals will be honored next week during Nantucket’s annual Lifesavers Recognition Day.

Doug Lindley and Jeff Turner are being honored for co-piloting a plane through a snow squall to get a patient from Nantucket to Boston for two organ transplants.

Andrew Trott-Kielawa and Connor Ventlin saved three swimmers who were caught in a rip current off the island’s south shore in July.

The Egan Maritime Institute and Nantucket Cottage Hospital will host the event Tuesday, September 11  at the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum.

Invitations are required to attend the event.
